The Introduction

Well, I am in great need of updating this blog. I only hope I have time to do it justice this afternoon. Today, was a big day. It was Edward and my introduction to the church for the wedding this coming Saturday. His sisters Joan and Margaret were very kind yesterday. They surprised me with a dress that had been made for me specifically for this introduction occasion. It is an absolutely beautiful dress of dark blue with white and blue embroidery. It is really quite hard to describe anyway, so I will try to post a few pictures later of the introduction. So, in this new dress and Edward in a suit jacket we were both looking very smart! There is a time in the service where new people ocassionally greet the congregation. It came to that time during the church service and the pastor said that some men needed to find Edward. Thus began the introduction. They surrounded him and carried him onto the stage. Of course, after this was my turn to be carried to the stage. I may not be describing it with justice, but it was quite the joyful event. We both greeted the church as we were raised up and invited everyone to come to the wedding. I think, oddly enough it was this event that I needed to finally cement in my mind that I am getting married on Saturday!!! I AM GETTING MARRIED ON SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!

Previous to this event Edward and I have been busy meeting with premarital counseling sessions. These have been powerful, as we hear from elder married people in the community, advising us and teaching us. It is humbling to hear all of the great things they have to say. I look forward to the day long away in the future when we will also be there at the place of wisdom about marriage. It will be glorious and will be by God's grace that we reached there.

Other than these wedding preparations, I have been relaxing with a great group of Americans. They have, of course, become my fast friends and I am looking forward to giving them roles in my upcoming wedding. It is so fun to interact with them and watch them on their own journeys in this country. They will never be the same for their trip here.

Well, I must be closing this post now. It is time to go visit mzee in the village.

God bless.

My computer was in the shop for awhile- it seemed like a long time but really only a few days. It just happened to be in the shop on the very weekend of your wedding so I wasn't able to send greetings or check out your wedding invitation site or anything. Guess you could say I have been wanting to know more about how it went. Thus tonight I finally got around to checking things out a bit. I'm probably inundating you with messages via facebook, etc. but just want you to know that you are loved and I am thinking about you. God bless. I loved reading your blog. Aunt Deb
